Washington, D.C. -- Steven Nadel, executive director of the ACEEE, will be inducted today into the 25th annual Energy Efficiency Forum Hall of Fame. The recognition honors leaders committed to global energy efficiency and its positive impact on the environment, national security and economic growth.

“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of myself and the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), and would like to thank Johnson Controls and the United States Energy Association for this recognition,” said Nadel. “From our inception more than 30 years ago, ACEEE has worked with governments, utilities, and industry to increase energy efficiency and study its benefits, such as lower energy bills and job creation. While the last three decades have seen major advances in efficiency, there is still much work to be done. ACEEE looks forward to continuing to help our partners mine the energy efficiency resource to create a stronger economy and cleaner environment for the nation.”

Nadel has worked in the energy efficiency field for more than 30 years and authored more than 200 publications on energy efficiency subjects. He has testified before Congress a dozen times and served as a major contributor to national energy legislation passed in 1987, 1992, 2005, and 2007. His current research interests include utility-sector energy efficiency programs, state and federal energy and climate change policies, and appliance and equipment efficiency standards.
