As reported in our February 5, 2020,blog item, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH®) Threshold Limit Values for Chemical Substances (TLV®-CS) Committee included carbon nanotubes on its 2020 list of chemical substances and other issues under study. Being placed on the under study list indicated that the TLV®-CS Committee had selected carbon nanotubes for development of a threshold limit value (TLV®). ACGIH®has now released itstwo-tier under study list. Tier 1 lists the chemical substances and physical agents that may move forward as a notice of intended change (NIC) or notice of intent to establish (NIE) in the upcoming year, based on their status in the development process. Tier 2 consists of those chemical substances and physical agents that will not move forward, but will either remain on or be removed from the under study list for the next year. Carbon nanotubes are included in Tier 2. If carbon nanotubes are included on the2021under study list, stakeholders will have an opportunity to submit substantive data and comments.
A raw metal is likely to corrode due to environmental conditions, and electroplating is usually used as a technique to protect it. Known as a praiseworthy supplier of chemicals and services, Alfa Chemistry is leading the way in revolutionizing the world of electroplating with its range of high-quality post-treatment chemicals.
In addition to corrosion resistance, electroplating has many other benefits such as improved aesthetics and durability. Today, electroplating is widely used in industries such as automotive...
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) published its annual National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries report several months ago. It covers data from 2021 and sadly shows a one-year 8.9 percent increase in fatal work injuries.
For 2021, there were 5,190 fatal work injuries recorded in the United States, an increase from the 4,764 in 2020. The fatal work injury rate was 3.6 fatalities per 100,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) workers, up from 3.4 per 100,000 FTE in 2020 and up from the 2019 pre-pandemic rate...
Now you can segregate your waste streams with color-coded ECO Funnels. https://www.calpaclab.com/eco-funnels/We offer both our Original and new EF2 ECO Funnels (8" models only) in four different lid colors to keep incompatible waste streams separate. While every organization has its own color-coding rules and preferences, proper segregation of hazardous waste is a requirement for all laboratories and waste generators. Incompatible chemicals can cause safety hazards, so we've developed multiple color options to...
Staffed with a group of high-caliber technicians with over years of experience in organic chemistry, Alfa Chemistry is, as always, committed to producing high-quality chemicals and materials according to clients’ specific requirements. Fairly recently, the company re-stated its competence and expertise in customized synthesis for silazane products. As a matter of fact, silazanes are more reactive than standard silicones and are frequently used as raw materials for silicones and ammonia. Meanwhile, hexamethyldisilaza...
Adsorptive polymers, reserved various remarkable advantages for research applications, have become one of the most popular functional polymers in the study of material science. As adsorptive polymers span their use in different scenarios daily, increasing demand for tailor-made adsorptive polymers is also revealed. Fairly recently, Alfa Chemistry announced its capability of custom synthesis of adsorptive polymers for researchers worldwide.
Adsorptive polymers, made under individual requirements, usually bear...
