ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- IHS, Inc. (NYSE:IHS), the leading global source of information and analytics, today announced that Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS) is being honored with a 2013 IHS SPECTRUM Excellence Award for its use of advanced health, safety and environmental (HSE) information systems and best practices to drive operational excellence, reduce risk and achieve its business goals.
The award recognizes ADGAS for using a sophisticated air emissions information system to strengthen and streamline its Flaring Handling and Emissions Reporting. With enterprise-level software, the company’s HSE experts have enhanced data management and reporting of daily flaring data, daily emissions, flare volumes and fuel gas data while also uncovering new operational efficiencies that save time and boost productivity.
“Energy companies around the world face growing pressure from stakeholders to report on their performance in non-financial areas including sustainability,” said Mr. Al Hadhrami, Vice President of Information Technology at ADGAS. “ADGAS is proud to be recognized for successfully meeting this challenge by using state-of-the-art environmental information management system to not only ensure compliance with our parent company ADNOC’s own rigorous Codes of Practice and global oil and gas industry standards, but also proactively measure and analyze our performance so we can continuously improve our operations enterprise-wide.”
'As an ADNOC affiliate, ADGAS is always looking for ways to enhance its HSE performance to keep up with ADNOC's Codes of Practice,” said Mr. Mohamed Zamzam, ADGAS HSE Manager, noting that ADGAS managed to reduce its emissions considerably in the last few years.
“Leading-edge companies like ADGAS are showing how HSE information management can be transformed into an important new competitive advantage,” said Scott Lockhart, IHS Vice President, Operational Excellence & Risk Management. “We congratulate ADGAS on winning this prestigious award and thank them for sharing their experiences so other organizations can learn from their success.”
Established in 2006, the IHS SPECTRUM Excellence Awards have recognized public and private organizations around the globe for achievements in various aspects of Enterprise Sustainability Management including Environmental Performance, Operational Risk, Product Stewardship, Energy and Carbon, Health and Safety, and Social Responsibility and Governance.
