ADMS-Urban,ADMS-RoadsandADMS-Airportincorporate the EFT emission factors so that emission rates can be calculated from available traffic and speed data. This release includes the new UK emissions factors from Defra's EFT 8. Details of the updates to the EFT are summarised in theEFT User Guide. Details of the model changes can be found in theWhat's New.
ADMS-Urban, ADMS-Roads and ADMS-Airport are comprehensive tools for investigating air pollution taking account of complex urban morphology including street canyons and road tunnels. ADMS-Roads is designed primarily for networks of roads that may be in combination with industrial sites, for instance small towns or rural road networks. ADMS-Urban can model large urban areas providing output from street-scale to urban-scale. ADMS-Airport has the features of ADMS-Urban, and can also incorporate all relevant emission sources at airports by using algorithms designed specifically to model dispersion from aircraft engines.
The updated release is available now from theUser AreaonCERC's website to users with current support.
The Irish Environmental Protection Agency has contracted CERC to undertake regional-to-local scale air quality modelling for Ireland in order to generate air quality maps for the whole country.
The project will couple regional and local scale models using CERC`s ADMS-Urban Regional Model Link. This will combine regional modelling undertaken by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) mesoscale meteorological model and the EMEP regional chemical transport model,...
Sustainable ports - Ecotech meeting
Ecomesure has been selected to present its environmental monitoring solutions during the webinar "Innovative solutions for sustainable ports" on Thursday, December 3.
This 100% digital event is organized by the PEXE, the French cleantech network and the French Agency for ecological transition ADEME, in partnership with the Union of French ports, the International Association of port cities, the French shipowners` federation and the French marine cluster.
The aim of this...
Sustainable City and Smart City
On the morning of Wednesday, 4 November, Ecomesure will take part in a webinar about sustainable cities.
Co-hosted by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, and the Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development (RISUD) and Innovation and Technology Development Office (ITDO) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, this lecture will focus on water management and air pollution in cities.
These two topics are at the core of sustainable development goals...
Low-cost gas-sensitive electrochemical (GSE) nitrogen dioxide (NO2) sensors are used for both indoor and outdoor monitoring. The sensors are stable, long lasting, require very little power and are capable of accurate measurement. These features mean they are often used in compact devices for monitoring outdoor air pollution measurements where NO2 is a criteria pollutant of interest.
However, GSE NO2 sensors are susceptible to cross-interference from ozone (O3) when measuring the outdoor air. We have tackled this...
CERC continues to run its inverse modelling system (details in our April News item) to determine NOx emissions in London as easing of the lockdown progresses. The latest model calculations up to July 17 show that whilst there has recently been some increase in emissions, they typically remain below 50% of the pre-COVID values. Consistent with this, London road traffic NOx emissions for our airTEXT air quality forecasting using our ADMS-Urban model are currently set at 40% of `normal`. Resultant forecasted NO2...
