their agreement which establishes Tegent as the master distributor of ACD/Labs
software in China, including Hong Kong & Macau. Under the agreement, Tegent
will distribute ACD/Labs' entire portfolio of software solutions to the chemistry-based
research industry throughout China.
Based on data from
the 2002 Global Assessment Report by Strategic Directions International, Inc.,
the Laboratory Life Science and Analytical Instrument markets in Asia Pacific
(excluding Japan) were valued at $1.56 billion US in 2001; a considerable portion
stemming from China, which is growing at a rate of 25-30% per year. As a result,
ACD/Labs is presented with a vast market potential in China due to the expanding
number of installments and increased utilization of instruments in various applications
for R&D and testing.
