LOS ANGELES -- AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, has announced that Al Hannum has been appointed chief executive of its environment consulting business, a leading practice ranked as the world’s largest and most geographically diverse environmental consultancy by the Environmental Analyst.
As chief executive, Hannum directs the overall management, executive strategy, and business operations for AECOM’s flagship environmental consulting organization. Based in Philadelphia, Hannum oversees senior level relationships; client advocacy; technology development and deployment; and major programs and initiatives with global oil and gas, power, manufacturing and chemical/pharmaceutical industry clients, and federal, state and local government organizations.
Hannum joined AECOM in 2014 as environment consulting business line senior vice president, deputy chief executive and global director of sales and marketing. Most recently, he served as director of operations for the environmental consulting business. He has 24 years of international environmental management experience with top-tier environmental firms serving industrial, commercial and government clients. Prior to joining AECOM, Hannum was senior vice president, global managing director, of the international environmental practice at CH2M.
“We are fortunate to have Al lead our environmental consulting practice,” said Fred Werner, group president of AECOM’s design and consulting services. “He has the rare combination of broad vision, management experience and deep technical understanding of our integrated business that is critical to successfully delivering for our clients and our employees.”
A graduate of the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Syracuse University, Hannum’s technical work and educational background is in the environmental sciences.
