AECOM’s Dr. Alma Madrazo receives Philippines Energy and Environmental Distinction Award

AECOM Country Manager, Philippines, Dr. Alma Madrazo received the prestigious “Certificate of Recognition” and a medal from the Philippines’ Professional Regulatory Commission’s (PRC) Board of Chemical Engineering for successfully managing multilateral energy and environmental grant projects. AECOM is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental and energy. The Professional Regulatory Commission regulates and supervises professional practices in the areas of industry, commerce, governance, and the economy.

Based in AECOM’s Manila office, Dr. Madrazo earned the Certificate of Recognition for providing technical expertise in the formulation of national environmental policies and framework plans, and successfully expanding the practice of chemical engineering. She is currently leading AECOM efforts to obtain multilateral funding for energy and environment projects in the Philippines. Dr. Madrazo has led major projects related to the oil, gas, and power industries in the Philippines for over 10 years.

“Dr. Madrazo is regarded as a leading environmental practitioner by business executives, industry association officers, and government officials,” said Mike Chan, Managing Director of AECOM’s Environment business line in Asia. “Her expertise and understanding of the country’s regulatory setting and environment has helped clients, and guided AECOM’s business development activities in the Philippines.”

Dr. Madrazo was cited as one of the “Ten Outstanding Boholano Around the World” – presented to noteworthy individuals from the Philippines’ Bohol province - in 2006 in the area of environment and energy, and has previously served as a Director of the Center for Engineering Research, Training and Consultancy (CERTC) of De La Salle University in Manila, a Director of the United States-Asia Environmental Partnership Program for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and a member of the Philippines’ Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Pollution Adjudication Board.
