Aerzen Rental: Pasta Production
Recently, Aerzen Rental received a phone call late on a Friday from a food processing plant in the Midwest that experienced an equipment failure. The failed machine was being used to convey Gluten-free raw material and had to remain operable to sustain production. New components were ordered for the existing machine; however, without the machine operating, plant production would have halted past the following Tuesday.
The plant reached out to Aerzen Rental who confirmed a viable rental solution could be in place within 24-48 hours. The plant maintenance manager sent in the signed contract on Friday afternoon and stated, “Now I can enjoy my weekend knowing we don’t have to shut down on Tuesday.”
By Monday morning, the plant had the rental solution onsite, installed, and in operation. The rental compressor operated at a comparable efficiency to the permanently installed compressor, so the existing power feed from the failed machine was able to be utilized. This avoided the need for diesel drive generators or diesel drive compressors that would have significantly increased the total cost of the rental project.
Aerzen Rental utilized a proprietary remote monitoring platform installed in the rental compressor package and noticed that the process was requiring a far lower pressure than the permanently installed equipment was designed for.
With that feedback, the plant was able to shift their repair strategy and procured a more readily available replacement unit that could satisfy the process needs with no impact on efficiency. This allowed them to return the rental machine much earlier than they had anticipated and throughout the project, they did not experience an extended interruption in production.
At the end of the project, the customer was so happy with the overall level of service from Aerzen Rental that they packed the rental machine’s enclosure full of their products and returned it to our rental team in Atlanta.
