SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Agilent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced two solutions for automated protein sample preparation: the AssayMAP Phosphopeptide Enrichment Solution and the Affinity Purification Workflow Solution. These are part of Agilent's complete portfolio of products designed to help customers optimize even the most challenging protein sample preparation workflows.
Traditional sample preparation methods often prove untenable in terms of hands-on time and unreliable in terms of reproducibility. In contrast, the AssayMAP Phosphopeptide Enrichment solution offers highly reproducible, automated enrichment of phosphopeptides in preparation for mass-spectrometry analysis. The Affinity Purification Workflow allows either direct purification of a target antibody, or purification via the immobilization of an antibody to capture its antigen.
'Agilent is enhancing all aspects of LC/MS-based protein analysis, including sample preparation, separation and analytical mass spectrometry,' said Yvonne Linney, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Life Sciences Solutions Division. 'By combining instrument research and development efforts with AssayMAP sample prep solutions, Agilent provides improved end-to-end workflow solutions from sample through to analysis. AssayMAP is a platform technology that enables analytical scientists to maximize workflow productivity and achieve greater success.'
The AssayMAP Platform takes a contemporary approach to solving the challenges faced with sample preparation. This easy-to-use solution includes validated automation protocols driven through intuitive software (the AssayMAP Bravo liquid-handling instrument) and a suite of AssayMAP cartridges optimized for protein analysis workflows. Individual applications can be combined to perform powerful, integrated workflows. AssayMAP makes large mass-spec analysis projects possible for customers who leverage the strength of this analytical method to confidently identify peptides.
