SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that company scientists and collaborators will present at the 6th International Symposium on Recent Advances in Food Analysis (RAFA) in Prague, Czech Republic, today through Nov. 8. The event draws food researchers and representatives of international regulatory agencies, commercial laboratories and industry.
RAFA is a bi-annual symposium organized by the Institute of Chemical Technology, the country's largest university specializing in chemistry and located in Prague.

'We are proud to welcome guest speaker Dr. Thorsten Bernsmann of the Chemical and Veterinary Analytical Institute Münsterland-Emscher-Lippe, in Münster, Germany,' he added.
Agilent's Thomas Glauner and Chris Sandy, food segment scientists, will discuss the screening of residues and contaminants, dioxins, PCBs and pesticides occurring in many foods.
Agilent is part of a large, cross-sector group working with organizations involved in food and beverages and dietary supplements, and also government agencies, technology providers, ingredient suppliers, contract research organizations and test-kit manufacturers.
Agilent RAFA Program Highlights
The Agilent booths (Nos. 1 and 3) will be open on the exposition floor every day through Nov. 8.
Today Thomas Glauner is hosting a session on new levels of confidence and productivity in the screening and quantitation of residues and contaminants by UHPLC/Q-TOF/MS. An Agilent-hosted reception will follow in the evening.
On Thursday, Thorsten Bernsmann will host a session on determination of PCDD/F and PCB with the new automated sample preparation system DECS and supported by GC-QQQ. A seminar from Chris Sandy will follow, on the fast and fully automated multi-residue pesticide screening in fruit/vegetable extracts using a GC-Q/TOF.
