Valencia, CA, May 16th, 2012 -- In January of this year, almost 60,000 visitors from the United States and over 120 countries attended the 2012 AHR Expo in Chicago, Illinois. The AHR Expo is the world’s largest HVACR exposition.
In the March issue of the ASHRAE Journal, a survey of industry trends was published from information compiled at the AHR Expo. A number of attendees and exhibitors were surveyed and major industry trends emerged from their responses. They included:
- Energy Efficiency
- Costs/the Economy
- New Technologies
- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
UVDI was also at the event showcasing their ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) and gas phase molecular filtration products to the HVACR industry. These products address many of the top trends that were recognized in the survey published in the ASHRAE Journal. UVDI’s products are designed to improve indoor air quality, increase energy efficiency, reduce the impact on the environment, increase sustainability and improve O&M by maintaining building operating efficiencies.
“The trends reported by the ASHRAE Journal confirm the importance of technologies developed by UVDI,” reported Gene Doucette, Global Sales Manager at UVDI. “UV-C energy and molecular filtration have long been recognized as solutions to address many of these concerns that the world’s HVACR professionals know are critical to a building’s operations and to address emerging trends involving indoor air quality (IAQ), maintenance and energy efficiency,” he continued.
The March issue of the ASHRAE Journal also showcased the V-MAX GRID system that UVDI unveiled at the expo. Installed in air plenums, it is designed for cost effective and efficient airstream disinfection of microbial contaminants.
