Air Pollution Control Equipment Manufacturers Take Positive Stance in Raising Skills

Source: APCEMA

Established in 1987, the Air Pollution Control Equipment Manufacturers Association (APCEMA) has had an on-going involvement in air pollution matters and continues to have a key role in assisting industry to combat air emission problems.

APCEMA is the national organisation comprising leading companies who manufacture and supply advanced process and air quality management products for Australian industries and world markets. This capability is supported by established international resources, a commitment to quality, as well as a commitment to applying state of the art technology developed on the basis of the wide experience of its members.

APCEMA, through its affiliation with the Australian Industry Group, has a direct linkage to the skills and expertise of Australia's largest employer body, who are recognised for their strong policy leadership role in economic, industry, innovation and the environment.

A major part of the APCEMA strategy to improve air quality is in the design and implementation of educational programs. The aim of these programs is to raise the skills of end users, specifiers and designers of pollution control technologies, and to foster the uptake of best practice in their use.

During the last 15 years, APCEMA has conducted close to 100 seminars and technology awareness workshops throughout Australia taking in all capital cities and the major regional centres including Gladstone, Townsville, Geelong and Albury. The total number of people who have taken part in these programs is now approaching 8,000.

In addition, APCEMA has in the past received Federal Government support to conduct programs in South East Asia to assist in enhancing awareness in Asia of Australian dust and fume control expertise and technology. APCEMA’s next Dust and Fume Control Technologies seminar will be held in Adelaide on 14th and 15th March at the Stamford Grand, Glenelg. To obtain a copy of the seminar brochure and for full registration details, please email David Richardson at APCEMA on dsr@aigroup.asn.au or telephone (02) 9466 5566.
