TEMPE, Ariz. - Environmental, health and safety (EH&S) professionals will converge on Alcoa in September for a forum where industry experts will demonstrate how emerging best practices, including the use of powerful new information management tools, are enabling global enterprises to drive enhanced performance for corporate governance, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
The ESS East Coast Users' Group will meet, Tuesday, September 18, starting at 7:45 a.m. at Alcoa headquarters, 201 Isabella Street in Pittsburgh. ESS, the leading provider of global and local software for EH&S and Crisis Management for Governance, Risk and Compliance is the meeting sponsor. Alcoa is the corporate sponsor and Microsoft is the partner sponsor.
The meeting will feature presentations highlighting ESS Essential Suite™ version 7.0, the software platform with enterprise hierarchy, security and language localization features that enable global enterprises to track and report all of their EH&S data on a single integrated platform. Attendees also will preview Essential Incident™, the new Essential Suite module collects workplace safety data for root cause analysis and corrective action tracking. Finally, speakers will discuss best practices for ensuring interoperability with production software systems.
Organizations of all sizes and across industry sectors are implementing measures that show they are properly managing all of their environmental management, workplace health and safety or crisis incident management activities. A recent analyst survey indicated that 60 percent of U.S managers and about 80 percent of managers in Europe plan to invest in EH&S information management systems to ensure optimal performance against corporate governance initiatives. ESS software is becoming the preferred platform for supporting organizational initiatives and ensuring standardization of processes for regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
'Accountability for meeting environmental compliance mandates and other risks now resides at the corporate suite, and a growing number of organizations are moving to centralized management of EH&S to ensure performance meets the expectations of internal and external stakeholders,' said Robert Johnson, ESS President/CEO. 'We are pleased to be able to demonstrate to members of the ESS East Coast Users' Group how ESS software solutions like Essential Suite version 7.0 can help companies implement best practices that enable professionals to reduce complexity risks and costs.'
