TUNIS, TUNISIA and BRILON, FRANCE and HAMBURG, GERMANY and FRANKFURT, GERMANY -- (Marketwire) -- 12/13/11 -- In line with its focus on international business activities, solarhybrid AG intends to invest in Algeria's future and to construct large solar power plants. The North African country would like to install around 22,000 megawatts of renewable energy in the coming years, the largest share of which is to be generated from solar power plants.
Talks are currently being held with representatives from the Algerian government and energy industry with solarhybrid of North Africa, led by Tom Seidensticker -- the first company to deliver large-scale photovoltaic power plants in the Maghreb. This is in fact a joint venture led by solarhybrid AG. The declared objective is to provide North African engineers with the expertise of solarhybrid when constructing and operating solar power plants in Algeria. Further jobs would be created locally in the areas of maintenance and safety, as well as in the supplying industry.
solarhybrid of North Africa is prepared to support Algeria in its efforts to fulfil its energy goals and to enter into cooperations with companies and government institutions to this purpose. The use of the sun, one of the most valuable resources in Algeria, can ensure more economic growth and employment, less dependence from fossil energy sources and overall improved living conditions. In connection with the development of the Algerian energy industry, clean solar energy would at the same time reduce the emission of the climate-damaging greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) right from the start.
