Allen & York Limited continues to meet and in many cases exceeds the requirements of the core Investors in People Standard since first receiving recognition in 1999.

Becoming the first recruitment company serving the environmental sector to earn the Investors in People Award was an achievement won through the underlying belief that the most valuable asset for any business is the people it employs.

Their recent assessment confirms that recognition has again been maintained almost a decade from the initial IIP acknowledgment.

Allen & York have continued to demonstrate excellence in its people-management practices, and is managing the transition from a small organization to a much larger one with considerable skill, as a result of its talented and committed staff and the skill of its senior management team.

The strategic vision for the Company was an area of good practice that was identified to have assisted Allen & York in surviving the current market condition. By discovering and meeting current and future skills gaps the Company could ambitiously grow through their strategic planning and commitment to employees’ continuous professional development.

A fundamental value labeled is that it is imperative that people understand their importance to the Company and are given a sense of ownership and responsibility. This was distinguished by a variety of interviews conducted by the IIP Assessor.

“Allen & York’s approach to equality and diversity allows everyone, from a variety of different backgrounds, to be treated as individuals who are all given equal opportunities to grow and develop whilst moving up through the Company. What has impressed me above all in the years I have been working with Allen & York is the sheer and sustained commitment to improving performance. Continuous improvement is part and parcel of its philosophy.” Angela, IIP Assessor.
