Alliance Resource Partners Selects Enviance to Measure, Manage and Report Environmental Data and Performance at Its Coal Mining Facilities
Enviance, Inc., a global provider of Environmental ERP (EERP) solutions that measure, manage, report and reduce environmental and regulatory risks, announced today that Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. has selected Enviance to track environmental data for water, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and air emissions in 10 coal mining complexes with a new mine under development in Indiana. The fifth largest coal producer in the Eastern U.S., Alliance will use Enviance’s cloud-based environmental management software to centralize its tracking and reporting efforts in one system, moving from a manual individual mine-specific process.
Alliance currently operates nine mining complexes in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and West Virginia and is constructing an additional complex in West Virginia. Alliance also operates a coal loading terminal on the Ohio River in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Alliance chose Enviance because of the company’s proven track record of supporting environmental requirements specific within the coal mining industry and its enterprise solution that is consistently well-received by the EPA.
“Given the increasingly stringent regulations facing the coal mining industry, we needed a proven system that could centralize and standardize our complex compliance mandates across multiple facilities,” said Robert W. Ray, manager, Permitting and Environmental Compliance at Alliance Resource Partners. “Enviance’s cloud-based management system will allow us to integrate our efforts to provide transparent data and further mitigate risks—core focuses in our ongoing efforts to continually strengthen environmental best practices.”
Implementation of the Enviance system will be conducted by CH2M HILL, a global leader in full-service engineering, consulting, construction and operations.
“We are pleased to once again partner with Enviance to support a new standard of environmental management in the mining industry,” said Wade Carter, business development leader for EHS Information Management Services at CH2M HILL. “With Enviance’s technology platform and CH2M HILL’s best practice implementation services, together we are providing a proven enterprise solution that the industry and regulators trust.”
“Enviance is honored to support Alliance in its proactive decision to move to a centralized environmental ERP management system,” said Lawrence Goldenhersh, president and CEO of Enviance. “The Enviance System will allow Alliance to gain an even deeper insight into its environmental safety practices to enhance business processes while confidently complying with the industry’s evolving regulatory pressures.”
