Lakewood, NJ (PRWEB) November 14, 2011 -- November 15th is America Recycles day and environmental groups across the country are gearing up for a day dedicated to raising public awareness about the importance of recycling. America recycles Day is mobilizing companies, colleges, and individuals to take the recycling pledge; a pledge to learn about the recycling options in your community, and to reduce your personal waste by recycling.
Kars4Kids car donation program is taking that pledge, and in that spirit has released an Infographic called 'How many cars were recycled last year” explaining the details of how many cars were recycled last year, what materials are recycled from cars, and what can be done with those materials. Did you know that recycling vehicles saves an estimated 80 Million barrels of oil every year, or that recycling a car keeps 11 million tons of steel out of landfills?! 'The Infographic is intended to raise awareness about the importance of recycling your old car', said a Kars4Kids spokesman, 'cars are the number one recycled product in the United States and keeping them out of our landfills is imperative'.
Kars4Kids has recently celebrated over 150,000 cars recycled, keeping hundreds of thousands tons steel and other materials out of our landfills, and saving the high cost of energy required to produce these materials.
The Infographic is part of a larger commitment on the part of Kars4Kids and its employees to be more recycling conscious. Kars4Kids has also announced that as part of the recycling pledge, Kars4Kids employees will be traveling to Rockefeller Park in Lakewood NJ on November 15th to clean up and recycle in the park area. Kars4Kids car donation program has always been focused on building our kids, both in mind and spirit, to give them the foundation they need to develop into productive members of their communities. And part of that mission is ensuring that the world they inherit is clean and sustainable for generations to come.
Kars4Kids is a 501c3 charity operating nationwide.
