WHO: The American Public Works Association (APWA) sponsors best- selling author, Dan McNichol, PhD, “Low and Slow” Tour with Engineering News Record (ENR).

WHAT: APWA’s National Public Works Week Kicks Off with the Launch of “Low and Slow Across America’s Infrastructure” Tour at Washington D.C.’s Department of Public Works Fleet Services Campus. Drawing attention to public works professionals, best-selling author and speaker, Dan McNichol, PhD., will talk about the tour with his Hudson Commodore 8 from D.C. to Los Angeles. The tour’s stops are planned for many Departments of Public Works and infrastructure projects to take stock of our nation’s infrastructure, and solutions along the way.

WHERE: The APWA/ENR “Low and Slow” Tour launch will take place at the D.C. Department of Public Works Fleet Services Campus, located at 1835 West Viriginia Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. 20002.

WHEN: Washington D.C.’s “Low and Slow” Tour Launch takes place on Tuesday, May 19th from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

WHY: Kicking off during APWA’s National Public Works Week, the “Low & Slow Across America’s Infrastructure” Tour’s purpose is to draw attention to the critical condition of our nation’s infrastructure, and celebrate the public works professionals who maintain, build and design it. Representing the aging condition of much of our country’s infrastructure, the ‘49 Hudson Commodore 8 will be driven across the country to increase public awareness about the current state of U.S. infrastructure investment.
