Aquatic Informatics Inc., a global leader in providing innovative software solutions for water data management and analysis, announced the commercial launch today of its next generation software system, AQUARIUS 3.0.  AQUARIUS 3.0 is a revolutionary leap for hydrologists and water resource engineers who are challenged with processing vast time-series data sets, consolidating water data from multiple sources, performing data quality control, developing rating curves and reporting to stakeholders in real time.  AQUARIUS 3.0 enables the world’s leading water agencies to better balance the ever increasing demands on water resources from drinking water security, hydropower, irrigation, recreation, and nature conservation.

AQUARIUS 3.0 is the result of a collaborative process between Aquatic Informatics and its key national and regional water resource agency customers – making AQUARIUS 3.0 the leading hydrometric data management system designed and built for the unique requirements of hydrologists, water resource managers, field technicians and engineers.

The innovations that headline AQUARIUS 3.0 centre on the new AQUARIUS Server.   The AQUARIUS Server is a powerful data management platform that provides water resource management agencies with a centralized and optimized solution for fast and easy access to the varied and fragmented data sets that are part of an integrated environmental monitoring program.  It solves a number of key problems for water resource managers including the need for real time data input and quality control, instant derivation of river flow, and automated and flexible reporting to stakeholders. One of the key advantages of the new AQUARIUS Server is its ability to be deployed both on a national level, managing thousands of stations and hundreds of users, as well as to smaller regional groups and even to a single user faced with managing a few stations.

The formal commercial launch follows a controlled release period with existing customers that allowed for active feedback and cooperation to ensure a smooth transition to the new platform.  Environment Canada – Water Survey Canada has been working closely with Aquatic Informatics over the past year as they deployed AQUARIUS 3.0 across Canada to manage, analyze and store data from Water Survey Canada’s national water monitoring network of over 2400 stations.
