ARCADIS launches student research paper competition to advance remediation technology
ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consulting and engineering company, is pleased to announce SeeBeyondOthers, a student research paper competition designed to promote the advancement of environmental investigation and remediation technologies.
The authors of the top three winning papers will receive a monetary award ($5,000 for first place, $2,500 for second place and $1,500 for third place), and an opportunity to publish summaries of their papers in upcoming issues of Pollution Engineering. In addition, they will receive a complimentary registration, travel and accommodations stipend to attend the all-new RemTEC 09 Remediation Technology Summit – The Future of Remediation Technology, a conference sponsored by Pollution Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, ARCADIS and others. Winners will also have the opportunity to present their winning paper at ARCADIS' technology and innovation training program, along with the chance to meet ARCADIS' internationally and nationally recognized experts.
'SeeBeyondOthers was created to spark innovative solutions for the broad range of environmental issues facing the world today,' ARCADIS Chief Technical Officer Suthan Suthersan emphasizes. 'We want students to know that their research results can make a difference.' He encourages students to write and submit a technical paper that demonstrates detailed theoretical research focused on the implementation of remediation systems/technologies.
Papers will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts and will be blind-judged based on originality, structure, composition and technical merit. The primary author must be a full-time graduate student at the time the paper is produced and submitted. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is October 17, 2008. White papers must be submitted by January 1, 2009, and winners will be announced on February 1, 2009.
