“Many people think that the use of asbestos in all new materials and products is banned in the United States, but that is not the case,” said Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates and the IAQ Video Network. “While dramatically fewer items are made and sold with asbestos as compared to decades ago, for a number of items, it is not actually banned by law.
