The conflict mineral reporting deadline has come and gone, but already companies are looking ahead to next year.
Many have joined the compliance industry’s top conflict mineral thought-leaders in Chicago for the 4th Annual Marcus Evans Conflict Minerals Compliance and Supply Chain Transparency Conference, with the hope of gaining invaluable insights into improving their programs for 2017.
With that goal in mind, Jonathan Hughes, Assent’s Conflict Mineral Program Director, will speak on June 22nd at 2:10 PM CT about best practices in conflict mineral compliance. He will review last year’s Conflict Mineral Benchmarking Study and what we learned from the results. Jonathan will then look ahead to this year’s study, discuss changes to scoring criteria for companies and reveal early insights.
Jonathan will also discuss the parallels between conflict mineral and anti-human trafficking compliance, and walk attendees through the process of expanding their existing programs to comply with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the UK Modern Slavery Act, the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and other global laws.
As a leading compliance expert both in conflict minerals and anti-human trafficking, Jonathan’s talk is guaranteed to offer actionable insights attendees can bring back to their own organizations. These steps will help companies meet the growing demands on their compliance departments, improve their Conflict Mineral Benchmarking Study scores for 2017 and mitigate risk of human trafficking throughout their supply chains.
If you are in attendance this week from June 21st-23rd, be sure to take in Jonathan’s session or stop in and visit our booth. Otherwise, stay tuned for updates from the conference throughout the week and follow conference developments using #conflictmin16 on Twitter.
