Asthma Relief Provided By New Electrostatic Air Filters
Home owners report asthma symptoms improve after installing electrostatic air filters.
ACI Manufacturing has improved the 'ULTRA' washable electrostatic furnace filters allowing the millions of people that suffer from asthma related symptoms a little relief.
Two improvements have been made to the electrostatic furnace filters. First, the efficiency was improved creating a rating of a MERV 7 (Minimal Efficiency Rating Value) with a low air flow resistance. The filter was tested to the standards of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) 52.2-99. With this improved efficiency more allergens are captured reducing the pollutants that trigger asthma.
Not only has the performance been improved, but the 'ULTRA' washable furnace filter contains antimicrobial protection that inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi or mold on the filter surface. This antimicrobial protection is as permanent as the filter itself and can not be washed out.
Although scientists understand that exposures to air particle pollution contribute to illnesses, many environmental and health connections remain unproven. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed a web-based surveillance tool that gathers environmental information and certain chronic health conditions in one resource. Currently this site serves 16 states and New York City. The CDC intends to expand the network to all 50 states. Obviously, the more pollutants you can remove from the air, the better the air quality will be.
'Many of our customers have stated that their children's asthma symptoms improved after installing the 'ULTRA' electrostatic furnace filter in their homes,' reports Phil King of ACI. 'Although it's not a cure, it makes us feel good that we are able to provide a quality product that offers an improved quality of life as well.'
