Anaheim, CA. -- AWFS has once again teamed with WEIMA, the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), Repurpose America and Freeman, the association's show general contractor, to set up a 'Destroy Responsibly' recycling program at AWFSFair, Wednesday, July 24 - Saturday, July 27.
WEIMA America will provide a shredding system that will be in constant operation during show hours, grinding all of the demonstration wood scrap as well as any discarded shipping or packing materials used by exhibitors and vendors.
The wood chips will be donated for landscaping at the UNLV Community Garden through the partnership and efforts of the non-profit organization Repurpose America.
'Since launching this program along with our partners in 2009 at the AWFS Fair we have made a significant impact in the reduction of wood waste and a positive contribution to deserving Las Vegas efforts that promote community advancement and sustainability' said Angelo Gangone, Executive Vice President, AWFS.
Look for the 'Destroy Responsibly' messaging throughout the convention center and view the shredder in action outside the freight doors in the Central Machinery Hall near WEIMA America's booth #7909. While you're there, check out the complete line of WEIMA shredding, grinding and briquetting equipment.
'The Destroy Responsibly program has been a shining success in shows past. We are excited once again to manage the show's wood waste in a way that is environmentally sound' said Audrey Brewer, Marketing Coordinator for WEIMA America.
