AWT Announces Immediate Implementation of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188-2015
The Association of Water Technologies (AWT) Board of Directors announces the endorsement of the new ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188-2015 (Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems). AWT plans the immediate promotion and incorporation of the standard into all AWT technical training and certification programs.
AWT’s president, Bernadette Combs, CWT, LEED AP, stated, 'Managing the risk and liability of Legionella bacteria in building water systems is a key element for the water treatment professional.' Ms. Combs further stated, 'As an organizational voting member of the ASHRAE 188 Committee, AWT has provided input to the development of the Legionella standard. It is now incumbent to provide our members and the industry with the requisite training to comply with the standard in practice. AWT has some of the leading experts to address Legionella issues in these systems.' For more information about Legionella resources, visit www.awt.org/legionella.
