DENVER, CO -- The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced today that it will host the “Getting Your Water System Ahead of Lead” webcast on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
The webcast will offer insight into the current Lead and Copper Rule and the revisions being proposed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) in 2012. Once finalized, these revisions will affect regulatory monitoring, corrosion control treatment and details on how lead service lines will be managed in the future. The new definition of ‘lead-free’ plumbing materials, how it’s being implemented, and what water systems can do today to begin using lower-lead materials will also be discussed.
