AWWA launches eLearning program for water treatment operators

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced today the launch of its new Water Treatment Operator eLearning program. The program addresses current Association Board of Certification national Need-to-Know criteria for water treatment operators and existing industry practices.

The Water Treatment Operator Program is designed to provide three courses for career advancement and professional development for operator Levels 1, 2 and 3. The coursework is based on the AWWA’s Principles and Practices of Water Supply Operations books and AWWA member criteria. Each level offers a 10-week course facilitated by an instructor, and students will participate in presentations, videos, discussion boards, tests, and interactive meetings. Students who successfully complete the courses may be eligible for six Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or 60 Professional Development Hours (PDHs).
