UK-based Axion Polymers has appointed Gary Welsh as General Manager to drive the plastics recycling specialist to the next levels of growth and meet rising demand for the company’s high-grade 100% recycled polymer products.
A highly-experienced manager with a background in polymer processing and automotive components, Gary will be focusing on restructuring and increasing capacity at Axion’s Salford plant, which is now producing Axpoly® and Axfoil® extruded sheet products round-the-clock.
He is also responsible for sourcing new feedstock materials, such as co-mingled and mixed rigid engineering plastics, to widen Axion’s growing product range made from 100% post-consumer plastics. This includes the Carbon Footprint labelled Axpoly® PS13 post-consumer recycled polystyrene derived from retail packaging waste.
Gary comments: “Plastics recycling is a growing, dynamic industry and Axion Polymers is at the forefront of many exciting developments within this sector. This presents many opportunities and I’m delighted to be part of such a progressive and innovative company.
