FLORHAM PARK, NJ -- BASF, the world's leading chemical company, will host the 4th Annual BASF Roundtable for Sustainable Construction on Oct. 5, 2011. The luncheon will occur from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Meeting Rooms Confederation 5 and 6, located at 100 Front Street West in Toronto, Canada during the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. This limited-seating event will present findings from this year’s architectural trends survey.
BASF will reveal the findings from the 2011 survey of more than 250 design professionals in both the United States and Canada.
Survey questions included:
- What percentage of your current projects incorporate or require green building standards?
- Do you think there is a need for a durability index, similar to an ENERGY STAR label?
- Is Life Cycle Analysis is an important part of the day-to-day design process for your projects?
- How do you receive news form third-party sources and are blogs as influential as traditional media venues? If so, which blogs or bloggers to you follow?
- Which type of building would you prefer to design and build: near-zero energy or LEED Platinum?
- Will the changes made to the LEED 2012 rating system for new construction be positive?
Following this brief presentation, attendees and BASF representatives will engage in roundtable discussions. Comments will be captured and included in the final report, which will be disseminated to the press and design community in December 2011.
