BEAC entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the ACC to assist with the development of the ACC's Responsible Care® certification program. Kenneth S. Kasper, BEAC chairman, signed the agreement on behalf of BEAC. Kasper stated, 'Responsible Care certification is a natural extension of BEAC's environmental, health and safety, and management system certification programs.'
Programs have been developed for auditor certification as a BEAC Certified Professional Environmental Auditor in the RCMS® specialty. BEAC will also review and approve audit service providers that conduct certification audits in accordance with ACC requirements as well as recognition of RCMS® training course providers. Further, BEAC will provide ongoing oversight and quality assurance of approved audit service providers and training courses. Since its launch in 1988, Responsible Care® has been recognized as one of the most successful environmental, health, safety and security initiatives advanced by any industry.
Responsible Care Management System®, RCMS®, and Responsible Care® are registered service marks of the American Chemistry Council.
BEAC is an independent, nonprofit corporation established in 1997 to issue professional certifications relating to environmental, health, and safety auditing and other scientific fields.
