Oil and gas companies will be gathering at The Woodlands, Texas, for this year's Best Practices for Oil & Gas from 16 to 18 October 2017 to discuss the innovations available to help companies improve their processes and grow their businesses. One of the key questions on the agenda will be how the digital transformation can help make processes more efficient, reduce costs and deliver new services to end customers. On its booth with the tagline 'The Digital Future of Downstream', the Implico Group will be advising visitors on how to integrate and automate their business processes and how to implement loyalty programs that increase customer retention.
Everyone is talking about the digital transformation. There is certainly a lot to talk about – and a lot to learn. The Best Practices for Oil & Gas event to be held near Houston in mid-October will focus on technologies and innovations for the digital transformation.
Implico will be showcasing the SAP tools that it has already successfully introduced in many companies: the industry solutions SAP Secondary Distribution Management for Oil & Gas (SAP SDM) and SAP Retail Fuel Network Operations (SAP RFNO). SAP SDM manages, optimizes and automates the entire order-to-cash process in downstream companies. The SAP RFNO solution enables service station operators to monitor, manage and automate all cash and volume flows in their networks. Both solutions are available as a business suite or as new S/4HANA versions and may be installed on-premise or used from the cloud.
'For us, the digital transformation means automating and integrating business processes as far as possible,' says CEO Torsten Peter, who is responsible for Implico's SAP sales and project activities. 'Users can monitor processes and data streams from control cockpits but only intervene in the event of an exception or failure.” This significantly reduces the work of employees and gives them more time to concentrate on other matters, such as looking after customers or managing loyalty programs. What is more, these SAP solutions encourage the customers to become involved. For example, they can click on a link to see exactly when their delivery is due, or they can rate the company.
“We have already been involved in numerous projects using the SAP SDM and SAP RFNO solutions and have been very impressed by how effectively they are able to help companies implement the digital transformation,' says Torsten Peter. 'Any corrections or additions to orders required to account for actual quantities and services supplied are carried out completely automatically. This is done on the basis of feedback data supplied by vehicles and depots using the standard SAP applications SAP SDM and SAP RFNO – without the need for customized software. Cost savings and significantly shorter order-to-cash cycles are just some of the improvements that companies see when they implement these solutions.'
On the second day of the event, Reinaldo Gonçalves Melero, IT executive officer at Copagaz, and Fernanda Lambertucci from Implico will give a joint presentation in which they share their experience of introducing SAP SDM to the Brazilian gas distributor Copagaz. The presentation 'Downstream - Boost the efficiency of your Secondary Distribution with SAP Best Practices' will take place on 17 October at 11:50 am.
