U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Thomas Vilsack recently urged his peers on President Obama’s Cabinet to give procurement preference to products that comply with the federal BioPreferred program. EOS® is among a wide range of products the United Soybean Board lists as Biobased Products for Government. This program aims to reduce the impact of climate change, improve American environmental security and boost economic growth. We are proud that EOS® plays a small part in this ambitious environmental program.

As soy-bean based products, EOS®, AquaBupH™ and other EOS Remediation products fit squarely within the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s BioPreferred Program and the biobased product guidelines developed by the United Soybean Board.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Thomas Vilsack defines biobased product as “commercial or industrial goods (other than food or feed) composed in whole or in significant part of biological products, forestry materials, or renewable domestic agricultural materials, including plant, animal, or marine materials.” Secretary Vilsack has high hopes for his program and these products.

The USDA website claims that biobased products can enable the U.S. to reduce our dependence on imported energy and increase U.S. energy security because they are developed from U.S.-grown, renewable sources. The USDA also touts biopreferred products for being biodegradable and having lower disposal and clean-up costs than conventional products, especially those based on fossil energy sources.

Since our inception, EOS Remediation has focused our engineering and product R&D on bioremediation products that yield excellent results in environmentally sensitive ways. Our biobased products help nature take the lead by stimulating bacteria that biodegrade the contaminants at your site. We are pleased to provide our customers with environmentally responsible means of addressing their bioremediation needs – especially at a time of growing governmental and public interest in preserving and improving our natural environment.
