BioPure Technology, part of Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) will showcase its Bio Tube Applicator (BTA) for the first time at Achema 2015 (Hall 3.1 / Booth E70).
The Bio Tube Applicator tube to hose barb assembly machine allows effortless insertion of single-use fluid path connectors into a wide variety of tubing, including silicone and thermoplastic elastomers.
Union of the tube and connectors is completed by the BTA without damage to the internal bore of the tube, and importantly, without lubrication such as Isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Providing a repeatable process, this aids cGMP compliance and reduces the risk of junction failure. The presence of IPA in the fluid path is a growing concern in bioprocessing, so avoiding its use simplifies validation.
Advanced features of the Bio Tube Application can replicate a manual assembly process and ensure that even the most complex application can be carried out with accuracy and repeatability. Utilising different combinations of change parts, a wide range of applications can be achieved.
The BTA is customised with a set of jaws, tube supports and a cradle to support the fluid path component. For new applications BioPure’s in-house engineering team can design custom-made part.
A Reverse Bio Tube Applicator is also available which removes tubing from connected products.
Also on display is a broad selection of BioPure’s advanced single-use tube and connector systems. Drawing on considerable single-use expertise, BioPure Technology provides the flexibility of customised fluid path solutions to suit a range of bioprocessing needs.
