BIRMINGHAM, AL -- Advanced Technology Recycling (ATR), a nationwide R2 certified electronics recycling company, is pleased to announce their Birmingham, AL location is now open and fully operational for businesses and residents looking for secure electronics recycling and asset recovery options.
“The overall reception we have received from residents, businesses and community leaders during our opening process has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Ray Magee, Director of Sales and Marketing at Advanced Technology Recycling.
ATR’s sixth materials recovery facility, intended to service the state of Alabama and adjacent states in the Southeast region, provides residences and businesses with a secure and environmentally sound resource for recycling unwanted electronics.
“ATR’s R2 certification and company policies allow for peace of mind to our clients and residences on data security procedures and environmentally safe recycling,” said Richard Spikes, Southeast Regional Manager.
According to Spikes, ATR has found that despite the current lack of electronics recycling legislation and enforcement in the Southeast region of the U.S, the population here seems very proud and respectful of their own environment and green initiatives.
“There’s a high-level of respect for natural resources and the presence of ATR in the region gives individuals and companies more opportunities to protect the natural resources they were given by diverting electronics and the harmful chemicals they contain from landfills,” said Spikes.
Residents and businesses may drop off electronics at: 3431 Lorna Lane, located in Hoover, AL Monday-Friday 9-4 p.m. ATR also owns a fleet of vehicles, permitting the company to offer nationwide pickup solutions for businesses and municipalities. ATR services include a close-loop recycling process with HIPAA compliant data destruction procedures and reporting. Although the company specializes in working with medium to large sized companies, ATR also offers community recycling options through collection partners or by hosting e-waste drives.
“ATR takes pride in investing in every community we reside in, an attribute we plan to display as we grow with the Birmingham, AL area,” said Magee. “We illustrate our commitment to the local economy through support of non-profits and our local schools, as well as our dedication to local job creation by hiring full time employees with benefits.”
According to Magee, the company is currently looking to hire additional full-time employees for various positions. More information on the company and the current job openings can be found at www.atrecycle.com.
Accepted items for recycling include nearly anything that contains a circuit board and/or batteries and plugs into a wall, with the exception of Freon and Mercury bearing devices, smoke detectors, lighting fixtures, kitchen and large household appliances.
