Black & Veatch professional receives achievement award from Asia civil engineering coordinating council
St. Louis, Mo. — Black & Veatch, a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company, announced today that Bob Crist, Associate Vice President of the company’s global water business, has been awarded the Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council’s (ACECC) Award for Achievement for his contributions to the progress of international civil engineering. Crist was nominated for the award by the American Society of Civil Engineer’s (ASCE) Society Awards committee.
“Not only is Bob an outstanding leader within Black & Veatch, he is a global leader in upholding the high ethical standards in the engineering and construction industries,” said Dan McCarthy, President and CEO of Black & Veatch’s global water business.
Crist, as Chairman of the ASCE’s Global Principles for Professional Conduct Committee, has been instrumental developing ethical standards and guidelines for civil engineers. Through Crist’s leadership, the committee was able to develop zero-tolerance policies and standards for bribery, fraud and corruption that have been implemented worldwide through ASCE and its associated organizations. In his role, Crist works with institutions such as the World Bank and Transparency International in the fight against bribery, fraud and corruption.
ACECC awards were conferred at the Fourth Civil Engineering Conference in the Asia Region (4th CECAR) meeting in Taipei, Taiwan, on June 26.
