Lenexa, Kan. -- Smith & Loveless demonstrated its 2013 push for innovation and expansion with the launch of its new products in pumping, headworks and treatment at WEFTEC.13, Oct. 7-9, in Chicago’s McCormick Place.
Frank Rebori, Smith & Loveless president and vice chairman of the Water and Waste Water Equipment Manufacturers Association, spoke with media at the conference. Rebori highlighted S&L’s longstanding tradition of user-friendly, energy-efficient, packaged wastewater treatment plants and leading headworks systems. A new addition in the Smith & Loveless Pumping Zone included a powerful combination of new S&L Non-Clog pumps with X-PELLER impellers. The S&L Non-Clog Pump with X-PELLER is a single port now available for four to six inch pump applications and will soon be available for eight to twelve inch pumps. This pump demonstrated live how it can pass three inch solids and other flushables plaguing today’s collection system.
WEFTEC.13 provided the perfect opportunity for Smith & Loveless to introduce another one of its latest innovations: the QUICKSMART Station Controls. The PLC Station Control’s new layout makes control modifications, screen navigation and viewing of pump station status easier than ever and consists of screen function buttons and a status bar accessible from each screen.
Above All Others.
As a pioneer of packaged wastewater treatment systems, S&L showed off the newest system of the TITAN MBR product line, the containerized TITAN MBR QUBE, perfect for plug and play treatment and easy shipping with its compact design and small footprint.
WEFTEC.13’s most thorough Grit Removal System display comprised Smith & Loveless’ Headworks Zone. Among its complete array of grit removal and fine screen technologies, S&L introduced the PISTA PRO-PAK pre-assembled grit system with a grit pump cutaway, vacuum priming system and easy controls mounted on a steel base and housed within a retractable fiberglass enclosure.
Additionally, Smith & Loveless announced the opening of the industry’s first-ever Grit Removal Research Center, a full-scale four million GPD system used for live demonstrations and product research. “With this system we are pushing the envelope on grit removal. We’re also pushing the envelope on grit testing, which is a hot topic in our industry so we welcome anyone and everyone who wants to visit our facility” said Rebori.
More than 250 guests visited S&L’s booth and one guest won an iPAD mini after playing BioClash.
