Breaking ground for measurement systems
On the 15th of November the ground-breaking ceremony for the new building extension of the local premises was held by the NIVUS managing directors Udo Steppe, Ingrid Steppe and Marcus Fischer together with the mayor of Eppingen, Peter Thalmann. Architects and representatives of the involved project companies also attended the ceremony.
NIVUS expands its head office by new areas for production, logistics and administration. The new building will approximately double the size of the existing premises. By creating 3840 additional square metres of space the company consolidates a good base for the years to come. The existing building has reached its maximum capacity. 'The current company location has never been a question so far. Quite the opposite, we depend on quality made in Germany', the managing director Marcus Fischer says. This is why a relocation of the production or parts of the administration to low-wage countries has never been an issue. The manufacturer of measurement systems develops, manufactures and sells high-accurate measurement systems for the water industry.
The new building in Eppingen-Muehlbach is planned to exceed the current statutory requirements regarding environmental protection by far. Solar power, the use of latest construction materials as well as energy-efficient systems for heating and ventilation enable very low energy consumption. The planning also includes spacious social areas and a gym for employees. 'With the building extension we create a pleasant working environment for our employees and we gladly fulfil our commitment to environmental protection', Fischer continues.
The building project is financially supported by the European Union and the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. NIVUS is one out of 10 companies which receive this support in 2017. Criteria for the distribution of the support were the degree of innovation as well as the degree of sustainable management of the respective company.
