BREEZE Incident Analyst – New Enhancements and Getting Started Video Series


On September 16, BREEZE Software released an update to its powerful Incident Analyst application, an accidental chemical release and consequence modeling software designed to predict potential toxic, fire, and explosion impacts for chemical releases. The new release features important updates to the industry-standard toxic dispersion, fire, and explosion models incorporated in BREEZE Incident Analyst, which include:

  • DEGADIS — for instantaneous, steady-state, transient, and jet releases of dense gases
  • SLAB — for dense gas releases from a ground-level evaporating pool, an elevated horizontal jet, a stack or elevated vertical jet, or an instantaneous volume source
  • AFTOX — to analyze liquid spills and single puff releases
  • INPUFF — to analyze instantaneous and continuous releases and releases where meteorological conditions or source characteristics vary over the duration of release
  • EXPLOSION — for calculating overpressure effects of vapor cloud explosions using the TNT equivalency, Baker-Strehlow-Tang, and TNO Multi Energy models
  • FIRE — to calculate radiation from both confined and unconfined pool fires and BLEVEs

Getting Started – Video Product Tour Series

BREEZE created a product tour video series for BREEZE Incident Analyst to assist users in learning the very basics of using the software. The series of five videos explores how to: use the intuitive user-friendly interface, modify existing chemicals and create new chemical mixtures in the chemicals database, define meteorological conditions and levels of concern, add sources and receptors, and analyze and visualize model results.

BREEZE Incident Analyst is used for emergency response planning, off-site consequence analyses, toxic release analysis requirements, individual risk and human exposure evaluations, and probabilistic risk analyses. The software covers a range of scenarios including toxic exposure to vapor gas, dense gas, and liquid spill releases, overpressure exposure to explosions, and thermal exposure to flammables.
