Bruker donates the Ludwig-Genzel-Prize 2014
Ettlingen, Germany -- Bruker donates the Ludwig-Genzel-Prize for the 6th time.
Within the scope of the solid state physics conference LEES 2014 (Low Energy Electrodynamics in Solids) in Amboise (FRA), the Ludwig-Genzel-Prize was awarded to Dr. Rainer Hillenbrand. The Ludwig-Genzel-Prize is awarded biyearly to a young scientist for exceptional contributions to the field of condensed-matter spectroscopy.
This year's laureate Dr. Rainer Hillenbrand (CIC Nanogune research center, San Sebastian, Spain) was awarded for his important contributions to the development of infrared near field spectroscopy. This analytical technique combines atomic force microscopy (AFM) and infrared spectroscopy, achieving a spatial resolution beyond the far field diffraction limit.
The chairman of the selection committee Professor Martin Dressel (1. Physikalisches Institut, University of Stuttgart) and Bruker congratulate Dr. Hillenbrand and wish an ongoing successful scientific career in the years ahead.
