NEW YORK, NY and 'S-HERTOGENBOSCH, NETHERLANDS -- (Marketwire) -- 09/20/11 -- BWise, the global leader in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) management software solutions, announced today that it has joined the Integrated Reporting Pilot Program, launched by the International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC) in September 2011. The two year pilot program is composed of a select group of companies who will work together with peers and the IIRC to develop a framework for Integrated Corporate Performance Reporting. BWise joined the pilot program to contribute to the development of integrated corporate performance reporting, including financial, risk management and sustainability information reporting.
Integrated reporting demonstrates the links between an organization's strategy, governance and financial performance and the social, environmental and economic context within which it operates. By reinforcing these connections, integrated reporting helps businesses make more sustainable decisions and enable investors and other stakeholders to understand how an organization is performing. BWise plans to use the IIRC reporting standard within its GRC suite, to deliver sustainable, actionable and manageable reporting.
'BWise is a strong supporter of integrated performance reporting and is at the forefront of this developing initiative. When working with global customers, we see financial data systematically collected, managed and reported as well as sustainability performance information and risk reporting that are essential in evaluating corporate performance. With our Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) suite, we want to help organizations to implement integrated reporting into their daily operations,' said Robert Pijselman, CEO of BWise.
The IIRC is comprised of an international cross-section of leaders from the business, investment, accounting, securities, regulatory, academic and standard-setting sectors, as well as from civil society. The aim is to help with the development of comprehensive information about organizations, both prospective as well as retrospective, to support the transition to a sustainable, global economy.
