Phoenix, AZ, December 23rd, 2012 -- Today, the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates announced the release of another online video to help educate the public about issues that may impact their health. Their latest educational video discusses human exposure to cadmium.
Cadmium is a naturally occurring element found in the earth’s crust. Exposure to cadmium that can endanger life or health can occur in jobs in which workers are exposed to cadmium dust or fumes. Workers can also be exposed by the incidental ingestion of dust from contaminated hands, food, or cigarettes.
“A number of industries use cadmium,” reported Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network and the new public outreach video. “Estimates put the number of U.S. workers who could be potentially exposed to cadmium at between 300,000 and 500,000 workers. We hope this video helps to educate people about cadmium exposure risks in the work environment and how they can protect their health.”
