Clarke Energy Sponsorship of the District Heating Conference 2016
Clarke Energy are delighted to be sponsoring the Association for Decentralised Energy’s District Heating Conference 2016. The event takes place on the 26th of May at the Barnes Wallis Building, University of Manchester.
The Association for Decentralised Energy’s (ADE) annual District Heating Conference and Marketplace is the industry event to learn about the latest best practice in the district heating sector. This is a free to attend event packed with key stakeholders from local authorities, government, housing associations, academics, consultants and industry. The aim is to bring together practitioners, heat users, industry experts and policy makers to provide practical solutions and advice to the district heating sector.
Clarke Energy’s district heating installs across the UK include:
- Aberdeen Heat and Power District Energy Scheme
- Liverpool University
- Kings Cross
- Glasgow Caledonian University CHP & District Heating Scheme
- Edinburgh University CHP & District Energy Facility
- Dundee University
In the 2015 Spending Review, Government announced a £300m fund to support up to 200 heat networks, providing a starting block for district heating opportunities across the UK. Clarke Energy’s Combined Heat and Power plants are an ideal solution to help kickstart this.
District heating faces a number of challenges such as a lack of replicable models, shortage of finance available at low cost and lack of awareness from customers. With an excellent line-up of invited speakers, the conference is set to kick start discussions on how to address these barriers.
