EarthSoft Announces EQuIS 5 Purchases from Two States
July 10, 2006 – EarthSoft today announces EQuIS 5 purchases from the Wyoming Department of Environmental
Quality (WY DEQ) and California Department of Toxic Substances Control (CA DTSC).
Both states ordered EQuIS 5 Enterprise web parts as well as EQuIS 5 Professional licenses. Enterprise EDP and
EZView were ordered in both cases.
The WY DEQ Underground Injection-Well Control (UIC) program is using EQuIS as part of a comprehensive
underground injection well control data management system to manage 1,800 wells. As part of the contract, EQuIS will be modified and enhanced to better manage data from underground injection wells. EarthSoft has rights to eventually add these enhancements to the standard EQuIS 5 product. Wyoming purchased both the Enterprise EDP web tools for high volume electronic data deliverable (EDD) submission programs, and an unlimited Distribution License of EDP. A new EDD for UIC data will be created and the EDP XML format made available for distribution by the WY DEQ to parties submitting UIC data to the state.
CA DSTC upgraded EQuIS 3 systems to EQuIS 5 Professional and Enterprise for the Stringfellow project. Tetra
Tech, Laboratory Data Consultants (LDC) , Kleinfelder, and other consultants will use the Enterprise EDP for EDD
submission and processing. As part of this purchase, EarthSoft will receive source code for the electronic chain of
custody system Tetra Tech has developed for Stringfellow. LDC’s integrated Automated Data Review (ADR)
software will help streamline the data validation and data management process.
Enterprise EDP offers a highly scalable, automated workflow for high volume EDD submission programs,
accepting electronic data submissions via email, FTP, or web. EDP, a standalone companion product of Enterprise
EDP, provides any person submitting data with a free desktop application to privately check and interactively
correct an EDD prior to submission.
Both CA DTSC and WY DEQ purchased the Enterprise EZView web based application for creating, saving, and
serving user defined queries and formatted reports. EZView supports hundreds of concurrent users and offers a rich user experience through the use of AJAX.
EarthSoft CEO Mitch Beard said, “We are very pleased to work with Wyoming DEQ and California DTSC and
their consultants, and look forward to enhancing EQuIS 5 with the results of their work. Open Systems attract
innovation, and herein are two more examples of consultants able to innovate on top of EQuIS. Large government agencies and industrial clients can use EarthSoft’s EDP and Enterprise EDP EDD processing subsystem for any and all kinds of new EDD formats.”
EQuIS is currently being used in multiple states and EPA Regions throughout the US. The EDP and Enterprise
EDP data submission process is used for many high volume sample and field EDD data submission programs.
