ETC Adopts PEC H2S Clear Training Program
MANDEVILLE, LA -- PEC Safety today announced a strategic partnership with the Energy Training Council (ETC). Under the agreement, ETC will offer all elements of the PEC H2S Clear training program as part the organization’s primary curriculum. This includes the train-the-trainer course for both in-house and independent instructors, as well as the direct-to-student course for individuals in need of H2S safety competency.
The PEC H2S Clear program is the most comprehensive training available on the deadly threat that H2S poses to workers across the country. It is designed to not only meet, but also exceed the standards set forth in ANSI Z390.1, and the enhanced requirements of the updated ANSI standard coming later in 2016.
“This partnership represents an evolution in the nature of collaboration in the health and safety training industry,” said Colby Lane, CEO of PEC. “We are excited to join with ETC to accelerate the delivery of knowledge that we know gets American workers home safely to their families at night.”

PEC H2S Clear is a classroom-based, 4-hour course. Upon successful completion of the standardized curriculum and testing, students will be issued a physical ID card that displays their photo, name, company name, and a bar code that links to their unique training record. All PEC H2S Clear training records are validated and automatically entered into the PEC training database through which owner/clients can verify student training history. Additionally, students will have access to the PEC mobile app, which includes a digital ID card and H2S reference material.
“The PEC H2S Clear program is world-class, and meets the quality standards ETC customers demand,” said Tara Porter, Executive Director of ETC. “We are eager to get the courses into the market and begin making a difference in the lives of workers across the country.”
