Untitled Document October 12, 2005, Westford, MA - US EPA's final hazardous waste combustor MACT (Maximum Achievable Control Technology) emissions standards for U.S. facilities were published in today's Federal Register. A total of 267 facilities nationwide -- including an estimated 100 - 150 facilities newly subject to this rule -- will have three years from today to achieve compliance.

In addition to incinerators, light weight aggregate kilns and cement kilns that burn hazardous waste, the final rule also affects halogen acid furnaces and solid and liquid fuel industrial boilers that burn hazardous waste.
