Free webinar offered on health considerations in impact assessment

The International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) is offering a free one-hour webinar on 25 April on 'Health considerations in impact assessment.' The presentation will be made by IAIA member Francesca Viliani who was recently awarded IAIA's 2017 Individual Award for her sustained and significant contributions to the field of health impact assessment (HIA).

Health factors should be an important and integrated consideration in all impact assessments, not just a side report or an after-thought. The webinar will be aimed at those starting to incorporate health into their impact assessments (IA) but do not know where to start, as well as those unsure of what health considerations should be included in an IA.

The webinar will start discussing what is health and how it is shaped and measured. Then it will highlight why it is important to look at community health and safety in any impact assessment, what are the minimum requirements for including health in an impact assessment, and what are the international resources available.
