Scope
This major golf club manufacturer was regularly dumping water from a drawing process, floor scrubbers, mop water and waste coolant. Before the equipment installation, over 2,000 gallons of waste water were hauled each week at a considerable cost. The customer established a goal to purify water so that it could discharge to the sewer and to reduce waste.
Solutions
A Skimzoil unit was installed to remove the floating oil from the wastewater tanks and an Extran Ultrafiltration System to remove the emulsified oil and other suspended contaminants from the water. After the installation, the wastewater hauling was eliminated and the oil is now being recycled. The customer sends filtered water to the sewer and sells the concentrated oil (which contains less than 1% water) to Safety-Kleen.
