The Environment Agency has recently renewed its contract for groundwater modelling software for up to a further 3 years. The Groundwater Vistas and Aquifer software is supplied by ESI, the UK's leading independent soil and groundwater consultancy.
ESI is pleased to announce that the Environment Agency for England and Wales has agreed a Licensing and Service Level Agreement with ESI in relation to the supply, support and maintenance of Groundwater Vistas and Aquifer Win32 software.
Groundwater Vistas is used widely within the industry for 3D groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling. Aquifer win32 is a sophisticated software system for analysis of borehole pumping test results.
The agreement is a renewal of a contract first issued by the Environment Agency in 1999 in order to harmonise software applications on an Environment Agency-wide basis and converge on existing applications that offer the optimum cost effective functionality to meet the Environment Agency's demands. Under the agreement ESI will provide the Environment Agency with software licences and support for up to a further 3 years.
ESI provides training services to the Environment Agency on these and other software systems by means of a separate contract
James Rumbaugh, President of Environmental Simulations, Inc. and the lead developer of the software, said ‘ESI software has become the industry standard for groundwater applications worldwide, and it is gratifying to see organisations adopt the software as a corporate standard in view of the greater benefits this brings in efficiency and productivity'.
