GSS joined with Schneider Electric at the recent Sensor + Test Fair in Nurnberg and Sensors Expo in Rosemont, IL to co-exhibit a unique wireless temperature, humidity and CO2 sensing module implementing their co-developed CO2 sensor and an ultra low power wireless interface board developed by Schneider Electric.

The battery operated CO2, temperature and humidity wireless sensor prototype is the World’s first solution that can run for 10 years with a single AA battery (2 min sampling time), thanks to its ultra low power consumption, with required performances for Buildings and Residential markets.

GSS and Schneider Electric Innovation Department have been collaborating for 3 years to co-develop this Ultra Low Power sensor for buildings and residential markets. As a result, the co-developed ultra low power CO2 sensor achieved best in class performance with +/- 10 to 20 ppm resolution with only few mJ per measurement, opening the path to a long term, stable, accurate CO2 sensor solution compatible with battery operated and solar cell self-powered wireless sensor.

In parallel, Schneider Electric and SolarPrint are working together to develop a self-powered wireless CO2, temperature and humidity sensor version leveraging the unique co-developed CO2 sensor with GSS.

This co-developed wireless CO2, temperature and humidity sensor represents an ideal solution to address the retrofit market of HVAC control of buildings markets thanks to its simplicity / cost effective installation and flexibility. The Demand Control Ventilation based on CO2 sensor is a growing market in buildings thanks to the benefits in term of energy efficiency: up-to 25% of energy savings in buildings can be achieved with proper ventilation control while achieving occupant comfort and productivity.
