WESTERVILLE, OH -- Integral Consulting Inc. has given a $5,000 gift to the National Groundwater Research and Educational Foundation to underwrite a portion of the cost of the 2013 Darcy Lecture Series in Groundwater Science.
Integral Consulting Inc. is a national science and engineering firm providing multidisciplinary services in the fields of health, environment, technology, and sustainability.
The Henry Darcy Distinguished Lecture Series in Groundwater Science was established in 1986 to foster interest and excellence in groundwater science and technology. The series — which has reached more than 85,000 groundwater students, faculty members, and professionals — honors Henry Darcy of France for his 1856 investigations that established the physical basis upon which groundwater hydrogeology has been studied ever since.
The Darcy Lecture Series has traditionally been funded in its entirety by NGWREF.
“This generous contribution by Integral Consulting Inc. marks the first time the cost of the Darcy Lecture Series has been partially underwritten by an entity outside our foundation. We are extremely pleased and grateful for Integral’s generosity and commitment to the furtherance of groundwater science,” said Kevin McCray, CAE, chief executive officer of the National Ground Water Association and liaison to NGWREF.
NGWREF, founded in 1994 as an IRS-approved public charity, is operated by the National Ground Water Association as a 501(c)(3) public foundation focused on conducting educational, research, and other charitable activities related to a broader public understanding of groundwater.
NGWA, a nonprofit organization composed of U.S. and international groundwater professionals — contractors, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, scientists, and engineers — is dedicated to advancing groundwater knowledge. NGWA’s vision is to be the leading groundwater association that advocates the responsible development, management, and use of water.
